December is here and I have to be honest: I wasn’t sure we were going to make it. But we did, and now it’s time to celebrate with these 3 beer holidays in December 2025.
National Repeal Day - Friday, December 5, 2025
We may picture colonial Americans as stuffy, teetotaling individuals who never had any fun, but that’s not actually what they were like. They drank. Like, a lot. But don’t worry: it was for safety! Questionable water sources led to the belief that alcoholic beverages were safer to drink than water.
Unsurprisingly, this level of alcohol consumption led to some trouble; in the 1830s, the Temperance movement, which saw alcohol as the root of all evil, began pushing for Prohibition. In 1838, Tennessee became the first state to prohibit the sale of alcohol and, in 1919, the ratification of the 18th Amendment prohibited the production, transportation, and sale of alcoholic beverages. The alcohol black market bustled, while previously legal breweries and bars were forced to close.
In 1933, the 21st Amendment was proposed and, on December 5th, 1933 was ratified, and repealed the 18th Amendment, ending prohibition.
Celebrating this December beer holiday is easy: just purchase an alcoholic beverage, and be thankful that the government realized Prohibition was a mistake.
National Lager Day - Wednesday, December 10, 2025
There is a reason beer is the third most popular beverage in the world (behind water and tea): it’s tasty! And the most popular beer style? Lagers! But what makes lagers different from other styles of beer? Lagers are created through a cold-conditioning process with bottom-fermenting yeasts, giving us the crisp flavor that lagers are known for.
Celebrate this December beer holiday by enjoying a refreshing lager.
New Year’s Eve - Wednesday, December 31, 2025
Some people have champagne taste on a beer budget while others, like us, would rather have the beer. While we won’t discourage you from joining in on the traditional toast of the night, we will encourage you to start with (and switch back to) suds. After all, pricer doesn’t necessarily mean better! Celebrate this December holiday and ring in the new year by enjoying your beverage of choice with the ones you love.
Which one of these beer holidays in December 2025 will you be celebrating?
