Beer Holidays in July 2025

Beer Blog Holiday

The dog days of summer are here, and there is nothing as refreshing as some hair of the dog in a frosty glass.

Here are five beer holidays in July 2025 to celebrate with a brew.

National Independent Beer Run Day - Thursday, July 3, 2025

Now in its sixth year, National Independent Beer Run Day was created in 2019, and encourages beer lovers to pick up some craft beer for their Independence Day celebrations, instead of one that rhymes with Lud Bight. Celebrate this annual unofficial beer holiday by making a run to your local independent brewery before the fourth.

Independence Day - Friday, July 4, 2025

Americans drink a lot of beer on the Fourth of July. Like, 68 million cases worth. It shouldn’t be surprising; according to historical lore, when he was composing the first draft of the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson was drinking a beer in a tavern. If you have trouble imagining the founding fathers enjoying a brew, keep in mind that the first colonial brewery was built in 1632, 144 years before the Declaration of Independence was signed.

National Dive Bar Day - Monday, July 7, 2025

Founded in 2018 by Seagram’s Seven Crown (yes, the whiskey), this beer holiday in July celebrates the dive bar, and to recognize them for the historic icons they are. Why did Seagram’s Seven select July 7th as National Dive Bar Day? In addition to being lucky 7th day of the 7th month, it also references the Seven and Seven drink, a dive bar classic. Celebrate 7/7 with a 7&7!

National Michelada Day - Saturday, July 12, 2025

This beer holiday is fairly self-explanatory; National Michelada Day celebrates the before-named beloved beer based beverage. A traditional basic michelada is a light-bodied beer base and lime juice, mixed well and served over ice with a salted rim. Over time, variations on the basic Michelada evolved; different sauces, chilies, spices, and fruit juices make a wide variety of Michelada experiences possible. Celebrate this beer holiday in July by enjoying one of these refreshing beer-tails.

St. Arnoldus Day - Friday, July 18, 2025

Stories about Saint Arnold and his history aren’t exactly clear, but they seem to agree about a few things. Arnold of Soissons was a soldier, and then spent several years as a hermit at a monastery. After being promoted, running away (and being forced by a wolf to return to the monastery), and promoted again, he retired and founded an Abbey in Oudenburg, where he brewed beer and spoke of its “gift of health”. He wasn’t wrong; due to water boiling during the brewing process, the beer became safer to drink than some local tainted water sources. According to other stories, when members of his church were ill, Arnold had them drink his brews, and they recovered, surviving the plague.  Regardless of which stories you believe, Arnold of Soissons was an interesting guy. Celebrate him and his life-saving concoction on this July holiday.
