If you’ve checked out our latest beer soap release, you’ve seen one of our newest featured breweries is Holler Brewing Co. With their Houston address and affinity for pop culture references, we weren’t surprised when Holler released King Tuck Kolsch. After all, Kyle Tucker is kind of crushing it. Not only did he get his first major league hit and RBI during his major league debut in 2018, since then he has been named an American League Player of the Month, a Golden Glove winner as well as a Silver Slugger, and has earned the titles of World Series Champion, AL RBI Leader, and All-Star. His back-to-back home runs in the 2022 World Series also made him the first Astro to hit multiple home runs in a single World Series game.
However, there is more to King Tuck than at-bats and outfield plays. He is also the founder of the Kyle Tucker Foundation.
The Astros were all smiles after winning the 2022 World Series, but the victory was bittersweet for #30, Kyle Tucker, whose grandfather died three days prior. Though Kyle Tucker left Tampa in 2015, he maintained his close relationship with his grandfather, who watched every game King Tuck played, even after moving into a Florida hospice facility. The experience the Tucker family had with the hospice facility inspired them to found the Kyle Tucker Foundation, in honor of King Tuck’s grandfather, and the staff who offered love, comfort, and support during a difficult time.
The goal of the Kyle Tucker Foundation is to offer support to families and individuals who find themselves in the difficult position of needing end of life care. Not only does the Kyle Tucker Foundation assist with the financial burden that can occur, the foundation also aims to bring awareness and support to Hospice care centers, and to give back to the hardworking individuals (including nurses, intake specialists, volunteers, aides, and more) who offer comfort and compassion to those in need.
